Anna Paquin, a Canadian-New Zealander actor. Born in Winnipeg and born in Wellington Paquin began her acting debut in the role of Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano for which she won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress at the age of 11, making the actress second in Oscar history. She won the role of Flora McGrath the daughter of Mute Scottish pianist who, in the late 19th century relocates to New Zealand for an arranged marriage when she responded to an audition for open casting; she was nine years young and lacked previous experience as an actor. As a teenager her family relocated into the United States. Paquin had the role of lead in the film Fly Away Home in 1996 and was also in a smaller role as Jane Eyre in the film when she was an infant. Paquin portrayed Frankie Addams, a character in Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding in 1997. The actress also played the Queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (2007). She was also a character for Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (1998), A Walk on the Moon(1999) as well as Almost Famous (2000). She also played the groupie Polexia Aphrodisa.
