Ana Maria Cristina Polo Gonzalez was born in Havana Cuba. The family moved to Miami at 2 years old. Born in Havana Cuba Ana moved to Miami at the age of 2 years old and was accompanied with her parents. In Habana, Cuba, Ana Maria Polo is host of renowned Telemundo show "Caso Cerrado" which was the first Spanish show to be nominated the Daytime Emmy(r) Award, and it was named the top Spanish-language show in the 4pm hour across all important demos. Polo is an American born in Cuba and was born 11 April 1959. She went to Florida International University and graduated in political sciences. After that, she received the PhD in law at the University of Miami and practiced law for twenty years in the city of Miami. After earning her PhD at the University of Miami she practiced law in Miami for over 20 years. Polo was first introduced to television audiences in 2001 on Telemundo's program Sala de Parejas (2001) as well as other court shows in which the legal skills of her was showcased. Literature Works and Accolades novel from 1958 Los Hijos Muertos won her both the Critic Prize and Spanish National Prize for Literature. Ana Maria Matute moved to the United States from Spain in 1960. Polo who is a breast cancer patient and patient who has survived the disease speaks often about her cause. Polo has been a vocal activist for LGBT rights throughout her career. Her law degree was awarded in 1987 at the University of Miami School of Law.
