Lisa Edelstein (born Lisa Edelstein) is an American actress best recognized for her role as House in Fox's medical drama House. She was raised in Wayne and was raised in a strict Jewish tradition. When she was 18, she moved into New York City to study at Tisch School of the Arts. She was very active in the nightlife scene in New York City, and did enough to get noticed by the media. While doing so, she was becoming more aware of AIDS' devastating effects. She used both her experience in the music industry and public recognition to create and star in a musical of her own, Positive Me. Awake in the Wild Side was her next job. When the show ended it was time to do film and TV productions. She started with tiny roles and then established herself slowly as an actress.
